The Cité Immersive Viking has officially been awarded the national “Destination of Excellence” label, a distinction granted by the Rouen Métropole Chamber of Commerce and Industry, recognizing the tourism sites that demonstrate the highest commitment to quality of welcome, visitor experience, and sustainable development.
This certification reinforces the Cité Immersive Viking’s position as a cultural and tourist reference in Normandy, thanks to a rigorous approach: promoting historical heritage, designing innovative immersive experiences, continuously improving the visitor journey, and implementing responsible practices related to energy, digital usage, and accessibility.

The “Destination of Excellence” label is gradually replacing the “Qualité Tourisme” certification at the national level. It introduces new criteria related to eco-responsibility, energy performance, and overall experience quality. In Normandy, only a handful of cultural and tourist sites currently meet this level of requirement — and the Cité Immersive Viking is now one of them.
